WALES CAMPING WEEKEND JULY 22ND/23RD 2006
17 adults and 4 kids descended on Harry's B & B to enjoy a fantastic long weekend of sun, food, drink, swimming and trips out and about.
As usual Harry, Dave and the lovely Pat treated us like royalty all weekend. After a huge full English (Welsh?) cooked breakfast in the new conservatory we were ready for the day by the crack of noon!
Tops down all weekend as we visited Bala Lake, World's End castle and the incredible Llangollen Aquaduct. At barely 12 feet wide including the canal and the footpath and over 120 feet high it was quite an experience to walk across! Most days ended up cooling off in the pool and of course more BBQ's.
Harry always provides evening entertainment and this year he organised an outdoor knockout darts championship. Some of us managed to hit the board occasionaly but the 301 required saw the torches and lamps come out as we continued into the dark hours. The final was played on Sunday with the highest score with 6 darts being the winner. Warren romped away with an amazing total of 53 to pick up a very nice prize of a food steamer provided by Harry!
On Monday we meandered our way back home stopping off at Welsh MG for some maintenance parts. Noel managed to bargain a rather bewildered owner down to half price for a brand new radiator just because it had a dented pipe! The fact that Jill had him in a headlock may have had something to do with with his negotiating powers!
All in all the best Wales weekend yet, they get better each year! Thank you to Harry, Dave and Pat for a really fantastic time and please have us back next year if not before.

WALES CAMPING WEEKEND
AUGUST 22ND TO 25TH 2008
Once again 10 club members made their way into Wales to visit Harry at his B&B campsite for our annual camping weekend. The weather got the better of our BBQ on the Saturday night but some of us  did get to see an unusual collection of Vauxhalls on the Sunday- more in the club newsletter.
