MID MONTH MEETINGS 2008
3rd APRIL  2008 MID MONTH - DOG & GUN PUB - LONG LANE , AUGHTON

MID MONTH MEETING - THURSDAY 6TH MARCH 2008
Ralph chose The Farmers Arms at Bispham Green, Parbold as our first mid month of the year. It is around 3 years since we last visited and it is now under new management after a refurbishment. There were  a fair  number of MGs in the car park on a fairly warm dry evening including a couple with their hoods down ( "who are the nutters with their tops down in the car park?" was one remark!) . The pub rapidly filled up with around 20 members, ( adding somewhat to the 6 regular customers) and sitting round a roaring log fire made a very pleasant evening - added to which Ralph managed to get a good supply of free sandwiches laid on. Thanks Ralph.
A pretty good turn out of members and their cars . Photos show about 12 cars in the car park . We made our way into the pub and virtually took over the snug room with its blazing fire.
THURSDAY 1ST MAY
THE FOX INN - ROBY MILL APPLEY BRIDGE

A beautiful late spring evening - probably the best so far this year - attracted around 14 club cars .
Ralph had organised free pasties from the landlord and an empty room to ourselves. An excellent evening.

MERSEY TUNNEL VISIT - THURSDAY 24TH APRIL 2008
Organised by Ray Trivass
An excellent visit enjoyed by 18 club members and friends. the visit involved a tour round the control room and then down into the exhaust extractors and fresh air ducts and in the emergency refuges by the roadway then finishing under the roadway where ghosts are said to roam. The evening was topped off by a good meal at a nearby "all you can eat" Chinese restaurant. Thanks for organising it Ray.

I am trying out the new picture gallery option below - click on the thumbnail photo and it should enlarge. Let me know if you like this option, or prefer the previous method of displaying the photos.
